FAQ – 3D Printing Guide
Before You Buy
Is this a physical product?
No — all teccotoys products are digital download files in STL, CHITUBOX or FORM format. After completing your purchase you will receive a download link by email. Nothing is shipped to you physically.
What type of 3D printer do I need?
Our files are primarily designed and optimised for SLA (Stereolithography) and DLP (Digital Light Processing) resin printers, which produce the fine surface detail our models require. However, most product listings also include non-pre-supported STL files that can be used with FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) printers. Results on FDM will vary depending on your printer's resolution — resin is strongly recommended for the best outcome. We recommend ELEGOO resin printers. Starting with the MARS series for smaller files like the action figures and the SATURN series for all larger vehicle files.

What resin do you recommend?
We recommend the following resins based on part type:
- Standard parts: Resione M58 or Resione TH72
- Flexible parts (e.g. tires, tracks): Resione F69
- Transparent parts (e.g. visors, cockpit glass): Resione G217
Other quality resins may also work well — these are simply our tested recommendations.

What software do I need to open the files?
For pre-supported CHITUBOX files, you will need Chitubox version 1.9.0 or later (free to download). For standard STL files, any slicer software compatible with your printer will work — such as Chitubox, Lychee Slicer, PrusaSlicer, or UVtools.
The Models
What scale are the figures and vehicles?
- Pocket Mech™ series: 1/87 scale
- Age Of Mecha™ figures and vehicles: 1/35 scale
- Weapon packs (Rifles, Handguns): Available in 6 scales — 1/6, 1/12, 1/24, 1/35, 1/48, and 1/60
Can I rescale the files to a different scale?
Yes! Since these are digital STL files, you can rescale them freely in your slicer software to match your preferred scale. Below are the conversion percentages relative to the default 1/35 scale (Age Of Mecha™) and 1/87 scale (Pocket Mech™):
From 1/35 scale (Age Of Mecha™):
- 1/60 scale: scale to 58.3%
- 1/24 scale: scale to 145.8%
- 1/18 scale: scale to 194.4%
- 1/12 scale: scale to 291.7%
- 1/6 scale: scale to 583.3%
From 1/87 scale (Pocket Mech™):
- 1/60 scale: scale to 145.0%
- 1/24 scale: scale to 362.5%
- 1/18 scale: scale to 483.3%
- 1/12 scale: scale to 725.0%
- 1/6 scale: scale to 1450.0%
Note: Rescaling to larger sizes may affect snap-fit tolerances. We recommend test-printing a single part first to verify fit before printing the full model.
Do I need glue or special tools to assemble the models?
No. All teccotoys models use a snap-fit assembly system — parts click together without any glue or special tools. The models are designed to be accessible to beginners, though some fine motor skill is helpful when working with small 1/87 scale parts.
Do I need any screws or hardware?
For 1/35 scale Age Of Mecha™ mech models, assembly requires M2 x 6mm screws. These are standard metric screws readily available from hardware stores, electronics suppliers, or online. We recommend picking up a mixed M2 screw set so you have them on hand before you start assembly.
Are pilot figures included?
Yes and no — most vehicle models include one or more pilot figures, not all mech models include pilot figures. Check the individual product listing for details on what is included.
Files & Support
How many files do I receive?
Each product includes all parts needed to print the complete model. Most listings include both pre-supported files (ready to print on resin printers) and unsupported STL files (for FDM or custom support setups). Some products also include multiple variant options.
Can I print and sell the models?
Our files are licensed for personal use only. Printing and selling physical copies of our models is not permitted without a commercial licence. Please contact us if you are interested in a commercial arrangement.
